On September 25, 2023, EAST GAS ENERGY TRADING S.R.L. (EGET, a licensed company in the energy market of the Republic of Moldova) and BOTAS PETROLIUM PIPELINE CORPORATION (BOTAȘ, the national operator for the transportation and commercialization of natural gas in the territory of the Republic of Turkey) concluded a natural gas supply contract for a volume of 2 million cubic meters per day, starting from October 1, 2023.
This transaction provides the opportunity to diversify alternative sources of natural gas delivery to consumers in the Republic of Moldova and will contribute to ensuring energy security in the region.
EGET is open to collaboration and offers its services to other natural gas suppliers in the Moldovan market, especially SA ENERGOCOM and SA MOLDOVAGAZ. Our priority is to deliver natural gas to consumers in the region while respecting all laws and complying with ANRE regulations, in strict coordination with central and relevant public authorities, nationally.
Furthermore, we would like to emphasize that the transaction between EGET and BOTAȘ does not contain any political subtext. Therefore, we request the avoidance of any unfounded speculation and the attribution of political nuances to this transaction and to EGET as a company. We urge that the aforementioned contract be treated exclusively from a commercial perspective and interest.
Given the liberalization of the natural gas market in the Republic of Moldova, we encourage honest competition for the benefit of the end consumer. We urge the abandonment of speculation and the dissemination of false information, which may put the authorities of the Republic of Moldova, especially in relation to the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in the Republic of Moldova and other public authorities in the Republic of Turkey, in an unwanted and unprofessional situation.
